Unbelievable

On the way to middle of nowhere and have come upon a road under construction. Instead of doing the logical thing and closing down 2 of the 4 lanes on the street, they have closed 3 lanes and turned the road into a one way street. So now, they close down and open the road in either direction every 30 minutes or so. At least I hope its only 30 minutes, we've already been here for 20.

This is China...

Culture shock

Things I've gotten used to...

Driving
Coming within 2 or 3 inches (sorry 50 or 70 mm) of the car next to you isn't a problem

Bars
Most cities don't really have a pub type bar, only "disco bars" or clubs.

Drinking
Having a beer from a mug is not permitted. You can only drink from small glasses, and you have to down the glass every time.

Talking
Its not really talking, more like yelling, even if the person is sitting next to you.

Spitting
Nothing worse than seeing a hot girl hauk a loogie.

Toilet
The porcelain hole in the floor just doesn't do it for me.

Flight Delays
Every flight is delayed. Usually they only tell you once you've boarded the plane.

To be continued...

Shut up

If you've never been to China, its one of the loudest places I have ever been.
Apparently the drivers they have to honk at all time to let everyone know where they are. Also, vendors on the street like to record themselves and play it repeatedly on a megaphone all freakin day. We have one of these guys who shows up promptly in front of our apt building at 8 am. Another 8 am wake up call is the construction crew on the floor above us who is hammering at all time with no end in sight. Now add a incredible dense population, all with cell phones, and people screaming to talk to person next to them.
To put it short, I never leave home without my ipod.

Vacation's over

I had a great vacation, but I guess all vacations must come to an end. Mine ended in a less than perfect way.

2 hours after boarding hour flight from shenzen to fuzhou, the capt informed us that the flight had been cancelled (at this point it was around midnight). Another hour later we were still in the airport trying to get our luggage and figure out what the hell we are supposed to do.

They put us in this sweet airport hotel, and by sweet I mean shitty. Anyway, our flight landed being delayed for about 12 hours, and as soon as we arrived in fuzhou we had to head straight to the factory. I couldn't think of any better way to spend my last moments of vacation.

Vacation

Koh Samet. This place is freaking sweet. White sand, clear water, and awesome food. Got here yesterday afternoon and just been hanging out on the beach all day.

Going to rent some jet skis and snorkle gear tomorrow and go around the island once or twice.

Unfortunately my camera got a little wet, so its not working, but I already took a bunch of pictures that I'll post when I get back.

Less than 48 hours

After a long summer of rediculous hours and few days off, I'm finally getting a break.
2 days from now I will be sitting on the beach in thailand. Arrive in bangkok on Saturday, staying in Pattaya a couple days, then a few days in Koh Samet.
